Mobile Ballet Summer 2021





Priscilla Nathan-Murphy

Originally from Singapore, Priscilla Nathan-Murphy received her classical ballet training in the Royal Academy of Dancing Syllabi, and has a certification from the British Royal Academy of Dance in teaching and a Teaching License Diploma from the British Association of Teachers of Dance.

She brings the experience of more than 35 years of teaching, a 30 year tenure at Houston Ballet, as well as 20 years of teaching at The High School For The Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, Texas. Priscilla also has extensive experience in teaching workshops within the United States, Australia, China, Germany, Singapore, Japan and Barbados. She has conducted workshops for international academic and educational organizations and provided guidance, creation and review of several syllabi for various establishments including Houston Ballet.

As a performer, Priscilla worked with various dance companies in Singapore and the U.S. to a Soloist level and as a choreographer she has created over 50 works for various companies and organizations including Houston Ballet II, Texas Ballet Theater, Houston Metropolitan Dance Company, University of Belhaven, Texas Contemporary Dance Festival, Yoshikawa Dance Academy (Japan), Hubbard Street II and numerous works for The High School of Performing and Visual Arts to name a few. In recognition of her performing, teaching and choreographic expertise, Priscilla has been the recipient of numerous awards and scholarships throughout her career.

Alexey Kulpin

Alexey Kulpin is a graduate of the Institute of Culture and Art in St. Petersburg, Russia. He holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in ballet pedagogy and choreography. As a professional dancer, Mr. Kulpin has performed soloist and principal roles in both classical and contemporary ballets in Russia, Israel, and the United States. He danced professionally with St. Petersburg State Opera Ballet, St. Petersburg State Male Theatre by Mihailovsky, Ballet Israel, City Ballet of San Diego, Grand Rapids Ballet, Charleston Ballet Theater, Stars of St. Petersburg Municipal Theater of Music and Dance, and Krasnoyarsk Dance Ensemble.

Mr. Kulpin specializes in teaching classical ballet, male and female variations, and character dance. His teaching career includes the Ballet Israel School, City Ballet of San Diego, Grand Rapids Ballet, and Charleston Ballet Company, where he taught company classes and served as director of the Charleston Ballet Young Artists Group. Most recently, he served as principal ballet teacher for Northern California Dance Conservatory. He has staged classical variations and choreographed solos for performance and ballet competitions, including Youth America Grand Prix. Mr. Kulpin joined The HARID Conservatory’s faculty in August, 2016.

Paola Garza

Paola studied dance at the Ballet Academy of Coyoacan in Mexico City and the “Escuela Superior de Musica y Danza de Monterrey” which is a part of the National Institute of Fine Arts of Mexico, where she received her bachelor degree in dance in 1990. Immediately after graduating she began working at the Ballet of Monterrey Dance Company becoming one of the original professional dancers of this new company. In 2002 she founded and directed a new independent dance group called “Fabulas y Cuentos” (Fables and Stories). This group continued to operate for 10 years until 2012 performing in cultural festivals, and other celebrations. Its purpose was to expose children to the world of ballet using well known stories and fables as the content for the ballet performances. In 2010 she launched a community based dance education program, Aprender con Danza (Learn through Dance), which allowed children in economically challenged schools and community centers to utilize dance as a tool to improve self confidence, muscle coordination, teamwork and improved group dynamics.

Paola also holds ABT (American Ballet Theatre) Certifications in Primary Level thru Level 5, and an additional bachelor’s degree in Classical Ballet Instruction from the National Institute of Fine Arts in Mexico City, and has consistently been a ballet instructor for all skill and experience levels over the last 26 years. She has trained in Mexico, Cuba and the United States.

Sean Nguyen-Hilton

Sean Nguyen-Hilton is an arts leader and educator working in Atlanta. He has danced with Columbia Classical Ballet, River North Dance Chicago, Armitage Gone! Dance, gloATL, and staibdance, and has toured extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe. Sean has been on faculty at The University of South Carolina, The Northwest Florida Ballet, Ballet Tennessee, The Lou Conte Dance Studio, River North Dance Chicago, Thodos Dance Chicago, and Atlanta Ballet Center for Dance Education.

After relocating to Atlanta from NYC in 2012, Sean danced with gloATL and was Principal of gloSCHOOLHOUSE (gloATLs educational platform), from 2013 to 2014. During the same year he was the Program Coordinator for ChopArt, an organization empowering homeless youth to practice self-expression through art. Sean was co-creator and facilitator for Dance Chance Atlanta, a once a month choreographic showcase at the Atlanta Ballet, as well as 2014-15 Hughley Fellow through the Atlanta organization WonderRoot. In 2014 Nguyen-Hilton co-founded Fly on a Wall, a platform for innovative performance, with colleagues Nathan Griswold and Nicole Johnson. Since its inception Fly on a Wall has received critical acclaim and is supported by the Atlanta Office of Cultural Affairs. In 2016 ArtsATL said “Sean Hilton has emerged as one of the city’s leading choreographers.” The same year, he was an Idea Capital Grant winner, and a Hambidge Center for Creative Arts and Sciences Distinguished Fellow, with Fly on a Wall.

Sean is currently a Lecturer of Dance at Kennesaw State University, Rehearsal Director for staibdance an educator with ImmerseATL, and serves on the Board of Directors for DanceATL.

Jerrod Royster

A south Atlanta native, Jerrod Royster has been dancing, acting, choreographing and teaching for over 20 years. Jerrod has worked at Walt Disney World, Tokyo Disney Resort, Disney Cruise Line and can be seen in Disney Channel’s “Let It shine”, “Vampire Diaries” and several other TV shows. He has extensive training with Central Florida Ballet and Huntsville Ballet Company and also trained in Jazz, Hip Hop, Musical Theater, Contemporary, Modern and Tap.  He has also  choreographed for over 10 full length musicals.
