Discover Dance

Mobile Ballet’s education outreach program offers the magic of live, fully-staged performances to more than 3,000 elementary, middle and high school students throughout a five-county area of Southwest Alabama each year.

Along with the Mobile Ballet Corps de Ballet, performances include guest artists from New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, and other world-renowned companies in the principal roles.

Student audiences enjoy not only a stellar cultural event but some of the world’s finest dancers performing right in their own community.

Realizing arts are the great equalizer – we’re committed to the belief dance, music and theater are essential to every child’s education.  Constant funding pressure and changing priorities leave arts curriculum often at risk.  Discover Dance helps bridge that opportunity gap, bringing first class classical ballet to those who otherwise not be able to experience it.

Mobile Ballet’s Discover Dance program is funded in part by Alabama’s Support the Arts License Tag Fund, along with funding from Mobile County Commission, Mobile Arts Council’s Community Arts Grant, The J.L. Bedsole Foundation, The Cunningham Family Charitable Foundation, The Caring Foundation of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama, The Crampton Trust, and The Hargrove Foundation. We are grateful to these and other donors for their generous support.
